What are TREENETS?

SlackMate Treenets creates custom Treenets—handmade from durable rope and paracord—that transform ordinary spaces into extraordinary elevated platforms. Perfect for lounging, playing, or simply reconnecting with nature, a Treenet brings a unique outdoor experience right into your backyard.

Each treenet is designed around your trees, your space, and how you want to use it. Whether it’s a backyard hangout, a kids’ adventure zone, or a quiet spot to read above the ground — it’s made to fit.

Elevated Rope Path

This treenet installation was designed to guide visitors through the site via a continuous elevated rope path. The structure maintains consistent height and spacing while adapting to the natural growth and placement of the trees.

Clear entry and exit points were incorporated to support smooth flow and easy supervision.

Our tree net is a super cool addition to our garden area by Arthur of Slackmate Treenets. Thanks so much for our awesome tree net, we’re so happy with it and stoked to be some of the first to have one of these made by you here in the Illawarra. Hours of fun, outdoor play, relaxation and appreciation of our bushy garden already. I highly recommend Arthur and his tree nets!

FAQs

What are treenets made from?

Treenets are made from Static Rope and Paracord 550. We also use trees and structures as our reliable anchor points.

Treenets are incredibly strong and built with safety as a top priority. Each strand of static rope is rated to hold up to 1,500 kg, and every string of paracord is rated to 250 kg, creating a structure that’s both resilient and reliable.

Each Treenet is hand-woven onsite from 1500 kg rated static rope, with the overall strength shaped by the anchor points supporting it. We assess your trees and anchors on site so it’s built to comfortably hold family and friends together.

We estimate that an outdoor Treenet Platform can last between 5 to 6 years, though its longevity can vary depending on several environmental factors.

One of the biggest influences is UV exposure. Australia has some of the highest UV levels in the world, which can accelerate wear over time. That’s why it’s especially important to choose a location with shade or natural protection, helping to extend the life span of your Treenet.

No — when done correctly, Treenet installations are designed to be tree-friendly.

We take great care to protect the health and integrity of each tree involved in our builds.
We use tree-safe strapping, static rope, correct bolting techniques and material and wide-load distribution methods that allow the tree to continue growing and moving naturally without long-term damage.

The cost of a Treenet Platform can vary depending on several factors, including size, location, access, materials, and the specific vision you have in mind.

As a general guide, smaller projects start from $2,500 AUD, with pricing tailored to reflect the unique needs and preferences of each client.
